Cwm Gwyrdd Nantycaws is an 84ha site located alongside the A48, 15 minutes from M4 and on the main transport route from West Wales' energy industry and ports including Milford haven Pembroke Dock and Fishguard. The vision for the site includes a shift towards sustainable renewable energy and will include solar infrastructure with battery storage to create a fully sufficient site. The project also includes exploration of emerging technologies including Hydrogen energy. A new state of the art Resource Recovery Facility set to open in late 2025 will expand the region's capacity to sort and produce high quality commodities, recovering materials for reuse and recycling. A new Circular Economy Manufacturing area will create new products from recovered materials and will be a Centre of Excellence for green economy innovation and manufacturing. A dedicated light industrial business park of some 30,000 sqft will be developed to accommodate SMEs offering flexible modern units to meet demand in the region. A large scale EV charging network will also be developed to enable businesses to transition to low carbon transport while also providing public access for everyday users. Partnerships will be formed with local universities and institutions to establish an R & D hub focussed on advancing circular economy innovation. The space will support collaborative research into material reuse, low carbon technologies ad sustainable design. It is planned that Universities will have an on site presence providing education, up-skilling and training opportunities tailored to the needs of the green economy.
